NO competitor parking in Twin Bridges/Douglas County Open Space trailhead. Competition Address Day Parking: From the west/Parker Road, follow GPS to 7375 Bayou Gulch Road; Parker, CO 80134. Do not turn into stabling entrance and continue east 1/2 mile to the Eastern Complex (formerly known as the Western Complex) for day parking. Driveway is on left/north side just before the crosswalk. Competition Stabling Entrance Only7375 Bayou Gulch Road; Parker, CO 80134. If you are not stabling, continue east past the stabling entrance 1/2 mile to the Eastern Complex (formerly known as the Western Complex) for day parking. Driveway is on left/north side just before the crosswalk. From North: I25 South exit Lincoln; east to Parker road (#83); south (right) on Parker Road. Go 6.5 miles. Turn east (left) on Bayou Gulch Road (there is a traffic light). Follow signs to Colorado Horse Park. Stabling entrance just east of Ponderosa High School.If you are not stabling, continue east past the stabling entrance to the Eastern Complex (formerly known as the Western Complex) for day parking. Driveway is on left/north side just before the crosswalk. From South: I25 N exit 181 (Plum Creek Pkwy) in Castle Rock. Turn right onto Plum Creek Pkwy. Then .24 miles turn left onto S Perry St. Make a right onto 5th St (turns into E Highway 86/CO-86. Turn left onto CO-83/N State HW 86. Go approx. 3 miles to Bayou Gulch Road (there is a traffic light). Turn East (right) onto Bayou Gulch Road - follow signs to Colorado Horse Park.If you are not stabling, continue east past the stabling entrance to the Eastern Complex (formerly known as the Western Complex) for day parking. Driveway is on left/north side just before the crosswalk.

Fees

Pay online through USEA Xentry, Draw checks to BGOSI (Bayou Gulch Open Space Initiative) Entry:Intro: $250; Starter: $280; BN, N, T, M, P: $300. $50 for non-compete horses allowed (if stabling available). Non-compete horse must hove a number from office and wear number at all times. Stabling:$200 for stall Friday-Sunday (3 days, 2 nights), includes cleaning fee so you do not need to clean out your stall! Tack stalls may be available. No Day Haul In Fees to Eastern Complex, 1/2 mile East of CHP stabling entrance. Refunds:Before C.D.-Less $25 non-refundable office fee. After C.D. - $50 less if entry can be filled from waiting list or new entry. NO refunds after closing date without note from horses veterinarian or persons medical professional. Competition cancellation-Partial Credit. $35 USEA Starter/D&M Fee Refund Policy - is not subjected to office fees, and shall be returned within 30 days of the competition to any rider who does not start the Dressage test.

Entries

Entry limit - 170 horses. Additional entries will be on waitlist. Stabling limited! Sign up opening day to secure a stall. Priority will be given to competitors coming from a distance.Entries for the Bayou Gulch Horse Trials require a $25.00 non-refundable office fee. Participation requires current USEA membership (Junior, Collegiate, Full, or Life) and horse registration (Limited for Training, Novice, Beginner Novice, Starter or Full for Preliminary) at all levels except Intro. Double entries are strictly prohibited, and refunds before the closing date will incur a deduction of $25.00 as a non-refundable office fee. Withdrawals must be emailed, or mailed on or before the closing date; no phone withdrawals accepted. Refunds after the closing date will only be processed if entry can be filled from waiting list or new entry, with stabling fees refunded. In the event of competition cancellation, no refunds will be issued. Any changes to an entry after the closing date will incur a $25.00 processing fee, with no changes allowed starting Tuesday before the event. Late entries, if space allows, will be subject to a $50.00 late fee. X-C Pinny/Holder/Insert are required for all participants. Levels may be divided/combined if entries warrant, state preferences under the Eligible Section and birth date on entry. Additionally, it's essential to note that all USEF Life and Senior Active members, along with all participants with regular contact with minor athletes, must comply with the U.S. Center for SafeSport training requirement to be eligible for participation. All participants are expected to adhere to the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code, USEF Safe Sport Policy, and the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies. Stabling/Veterinarian

Upload horses, health documents, create pass for event. Will make check in a breeze!++ ALL HORSES WILL BE CHECKED AND CONFIRMED UPON ARRIVAL WITH EVENTPASS. 1. A current negative Coggins test is required for all horses entering the facility. Please renew before it expires, and not just before it is necessary to leave the state. 2. Statement of Health/Veterinary Health Certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian within 30 days of arrival at CHP, documenting that the horse has: A. Received regular and consistent vaccination against Equine Influenza and EHV 1 & 4 with the most recent booster being within 180 days. Written Statements from Vet explaining reasons for being bolstered within 180 Days MAY be accepted. IN NO CASES MAY THE BOOSTER BE OUTSIDE OF 180 DAYS. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be denied entry to the competition grounds upon request by Management. B. Not shown symptoms of or been treated for EHV-4/1 within the past 28 days. C. Not been at a facility under quarantine for EHV-4/1 or exposed to any horses showing symptoms of EHV-4/1 within the past 28 days. 3. Current vaccination against WNV, EEE, WEE, Tetanus, Rabies is strongly recommended. 4. You should be able to document your horse’s normal temperature before arrival. Please do not ship horses with elevated temperatures. It is recommended that you establish a log of temperatures taken at least twice daily. Any horse on the show grounds with a fever of unknown origin or of suspicious origin must be reported to LEG Horse Shows and Events Management and the Official Veterinarian. It is always better to err on the side of safety. Isolation stalls will be available on the grounds and/or at a local veterinary practice if the need arises. 5. Every effort should be made to minimize stress and commingling of horses shipped long distances. 6. Please take the time to review equine good hygiene practices. 7. All paperwork must be in the horse’s SHOW NAME. STABLING:ALL HORSES MUST BE PRE-CHECKED FOR BIOSECURITY PROTOCOL THROUGH EVENTPASS AND THEN WILL BE CONFIRMED UPON ARRIVAL. We strongly recommend all horses stabling on the Colorado Horse Park Grounds arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. If it is necessary to arrive at any other time you must make arrangements prior to arrival AT BAYOUGULCHHORSETRIALS@GMAIL.COM.
  1. If day-parking at Eastern Complex (Old Western Complex), horses cannot go to main CHP grounds,except for going to Dressage & Show Jumping.
  2. Bring own buckets - water tank at day-parking will also be provided.
  3. May be permanent stalls or temporary, all with roof and stall doors.
  4. Shavings and hay: 1 bag of shavings included with stall compliments Murdoch's. 5 bags of shavings required for stalls.

Cross-Country

M- 2500 m @ 490 MPM. T- 2200 m @ 450 MPM. N -2000 m @ 400 MPM.BN-1600 m @ 350 MPM.Starter -1500 m @ 325 MPM. Intro - 1200m @275 MPM, (max fence height 18").Cross Country Courses designed by Rob Mobley “R” (TN) All courses average to level for horses with experience at the level.There will be water, banks and ditches appropriate for each level on the courses. Cross Country Track is established, native meadow grasses, rolling terrain on sandy loam soil.Cross Country course closed outside of scheduled events.

  1. Golf carts, bikes, e-bikes allowed to walk Cross Country on Friday July 31 and for travel along road to warm up and Finish on August 1, XC Day. Shuttles provided from Eastern Complex to warm up and Finish.
  2. No unauthorized motor vehicles allowed on Bayou Gulch Open Space except for Licensed Officials. Authorized vehicles will receive a Parking Pass. Note re: Bayou Gulch Open Space: Horses are not allowed on cross-country course except for events registered through BGOSI with the Douglas County Open Space staff; trail-riders/non-event dates MUST stay on trails. Direct questions to BGHT Organizing Committee members to reduce incorrect information.
  3. Medical armband or wristband must be worn.
  4. Bring own pinney holder.

Show Office will be in Colorado Horse Park office area. COMPETITOR PARTY: Saturday August 2nd, 6-8pm in the Colorado Horse Park Administration building 7522 S Pinery Dr, Parker, CO 80134.BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR. GOLF CART RENTALS:https://wildranchcartrentals.com/ WATER FOR COMPETITORS/SPECTATORS: In order to reduce waste, we will have water stations near competition areas to fill your own water bottle. Dressage will be in CHP Arenas. Cross Country will be on the south side of Bayou Gulch Road, with crossing from CHP Eastern Complex to Bayou Gulch Open Space. Show Jumping will be in the Coors Arena at the very north side of CHP, warm up is adjacent. Please note updates and changes to USEF rules, including all dogs MUST remain on leash with someone attached to the leash, and in control as per GR1301. Golf carts or motorized bikes, or bikes must stay along northern path while cross country is running except for Officials & Shuttles. Food vendor available on Saturday in Eastern Complex. No loud generators.BGHT reserves the right to refuse to accept an entry from any owner, trainer, exhibitor or coach. SUBCHAPTER EV-9 DRESS 1. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR. a. At Federation licensed and endorsed Events, Athletes must wear headgear as follows, except as may otherwise be mandated by local law (see also GR801) b. Upon arrival, anyone riding a Horse must wear properly fitting protective headgear. The harness must be secured and properly fitted. See GR801. “Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rulebook will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.” See GR801 Sharps containers will be located in every barn, and that competition management may fine any individual up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. “Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rulebook will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.” To be eligible to participate at Federation Licensed Competitions, all persons acting as coaches or trainers, and legal guardians signing entry blanks as coaches or trainers on behalf of their minors must be Senior Active Members in good standing.
